Lost track of the different programme items? This programme overview will give you a good outline. In the sections Climate Neighbourhoods, Youth Climate Summit and Climate Action Festival you will find a separate PDF download for each programme item.

Programme of the Climate Neighbourhoods

22 May to 23 May 2019

The Climate Neighbourhoods start simultaneously with the ICCA on Wednesday, 22 May 2019, in Heidelberg’s town hall. Here, the joint opening ceremony of ICCA and CN and the subsequent lunch will take place. Afterwards, the participants of the CN come together to exchange in parallel workshops on the different thematic topics in Heidelberg's historic city centre. Elements open to the public on stage (have a look under Climate Action Festival) in the late afternoon, joint dinner preparation and subsequent feasting in the big CN tent will provide the time and space for informal networking and exchange.

The results of the 22nd May will be condensed on 23 May in order to produce recommendations for the policy level, which will then be presented at the ICCA closing event. These recommendations will also be incorporated into a Heidelberg message for the UN climate dialogue. The ICCA and CN participants will meet for a joint lunch followed by the closing ceremony in the Heidelberg town hall.

If you arrive early enough, join the Science Slam on 21 May from 19:00 hrs taking place in the tent on Universitätsplatz. The detailed CN programme can be found here for download.

Programme of the Youth Climate Summit

20 May to 23 May 2019

The Youth Climate Summit (YCS) begins on Monday evening 20 May with an informal get-together. The following day is reserved foran intensive thematic exchange and the development of demands to the political decision makers. The young people will be able to present these demands at the joint opening ceremony of the ICCA and the CN on Wednesday, 22 May, and give the participants of the two conferences impulses for their own discussions along the way. Subsequently, the participants of the YCS will take part in all further events of the CN on Wednesday and Thursday.

The detailed Youth Climate Summit programme can be found here for download.

Climate Action Festival

22 May 2019

On Wednesday, 22 May 2019, at 16:30 hrs, a citizens' festival for climate action will take place on the Universitätsplatz in Heidelberg's historic city centre. Interested citizens can join the CN participants here and inform themselves, participate and celebrate together! A programme for this is currently being developed.
